With the intense competition among nations increasing, we always hope our future generation receive the best education we could provide, education can lead them to recogize who they are, what they will become and stimulate their most powerful potential. However, the education merely serves as an external engine that can only push students ahead, we need another critical gear that can internally drive the mind of young generation forward and maxmize the effectiveness of education—-the interest.
"Interest is always the best teacher" said one of the renown scientists, which reveals the power of interest. When intoxicated in some topic, we naturally feel the infinitiveness of vigor and energy that are triggered by the great interest, interest that ensure us to enjoy the learning process, it is the pursuit of interest that illuminiate the way for us and lead common people to discover their own miracle under the skin. In the realm of science, interest is hignly emphasised,even more important than the academic capbility. Belief in the power of interest accompany researchers closely, and acts like a light tower in the darkness, guiding the explorers of scientific frontier to direction of truth. Issac Newton, one of the best renown physicsts in the world, always facinated with the beauty of science,then his experience of education at Oxford university acts like a catalyst that transform his interest and wisdom into real scientific achivement, there are so many alumini educated in the Oxford university, but there born just one Newton.
However, too much emphasis on the interest of students will on the contrary impede their improvement of all-round abilities. It is widely-accepted that the education provided to the students should cover a large variety of curriculums, from world history to the advanced mathematics. Therefore not each of the curriculums are so charming to students. And the interests of students change from different individual,or even different periods of lifetime. We might wonder at the joy of computational thinking the geometry brought us when at adolescence, but suddently choke at the brain-distorted equation of advanced mathematics when we begin our major in university. In general, lack of interest in some curriculum can not be the reason for the students to refute the education. The compulsory curriculum included in the education is beneficial to the strucutre of knowledge which is being bulit in the student even the curriculums themselves are tedious. In most of the case, while education introduces the rigorous knowledge to their young receivers, it seems not such an enjoyable experience for the them.
Thirdly, in the extant of educational system, we can not take into consideration of the interest of every individual. Although the limited resource of educational system cannot allow us to design the specialized plan of education according to the student’s individual characteristics, some useful measure could be taken to stimulate the interest of students to some extant. For instance, we have introduced the multimedia technology into class teaching, like the projector and computer, the vivid presentation of knowledge fully attract the attention of students, help them better digest and assimilate new knowledge, therefore through some innovative measures can we also inspire the interest of students, that can largely enhance the effectiveness of education conversely.
To sum up, the interest of students is indeed the internal element that can inspire the motivation of learning. Only through triggering the interest of each student can eduation achive its effectiveness impressively. Thus, our educational system should keep on introducing new methods of teaching,improving the teaching style, which aims at meeting the need and inerests of each student, through that the education could better help our future generation explore their own potential and prepare them well for the test of life.
